The Birth of a GlassheArt
The Birth of a GlassheArt
I live in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, in Kelowna, BC Canada where I work from my home studio in the traditional copper foil and solder method of stained glass creating windows that are anything but traditional.
What began as a hobby in 2011, quickly turned into an obsession before morphing into a business in 2014.
Much like photography, when working with glass it’s all about light and composition. Ideas for many pieces come via the inspiration from the glass itself. Others windows are some kind of vision that plops into my brain and won’t leave until I’ve made it. These pieces, I believe, are ones that have been created for someone I’ve never met who will see it and know instantly it was meant to be in their home.
The Capital News in Kelowna wrote a lovely article about GlassheArt when I first started the business. You can find it here.
I can ship anywhere in North America. Shipping outside North America is available upon request but very expensive. You can also find my work on Facebook, follow me on Instagram or occasionally find my work on Etsy, although I don’t put much up there due to the shipping thing.
I will post any shows or exhibitions in my blog and on my Facebook and Instagram pages as well as Twitter where you can follow me @GlassArtGiraffe
•heArts are beautiful but fragile
•Some people keep their heArts wrapped in bubble wrap
•Different light will always affect their colours; rainy days may bring out darker shades but a heArt’s true beauty will return when warmed by light and love
•Let your heArt shine and watch as everything in your life changes for the better
